Jim Yawn, PharmD is from Stringer, MS. He has a Bachelors in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi. Jim later received his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Ole Miss. After pharmacy school, Jim had a brief experience working for a chain retail pharmacy before he turned his focus towards specialty compounding and community pharmacy. He has four years of experience in compounding, with additional training from PCCA® and IACP™ in specialized compounding for Bio-Identical Hormones, Veterinary, Pediatrics, and Dermatology. Jim welcomes a challenge in finding the exact medication, strength, and dosage form when there is a need for a compound.
Kristen Yawn, PharmD, an Olive Branch native, is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and has been practicing pharmacy for 9 years. She began her pharmacy career as a pharmacy intern for Kroger Pharmacy until graduation in 2012. She then worked as a staff pharmacist at several Kroger locations until she and her husband opened Uptown Pharmacy in June 2015. One of her favorite aspects of pharmacy is connecting with and helping customers reach a better quality of life. Being the pharmacist at her local family-owned pharmacy has really been special in helping Kristen get to know her patients.
Betsy Fulton, PharmD hails from Philadelphia, Mississippi and has been practicing pharmacy in the Jackson, Mississippi area since her graduation from the University of Mississippi’s school of pharmacy in 2013. After working as an intern for Walgreens, she settled in as a staff pharmacist for the Kroger pharmacy in Byram until she left in September 2017 to join Jim and Kristen in their unique community-based practice at Uptown Pharmacy. Betsy thoroughly enjoys getting to know her patients and helping optimize their medication therapy to improve their quality of life.
